Matai M

This Term Matai’s inquiry has been called ‘Just Imagine…’  We have been learning all about how and why people tell stories.  We worked hard to write our own narrative stories, about an animal that gets lost in the jungle.  Then we chose to work in groups or by ourselves to create a way to share our story with the class.  We had to think about a different way of presenting the story, and then plan what we would need, and how we would make our presentation.  These photos show us presenting our stories to the class.  We were risk-takers, because we tried something new, and we are open-minded, because we listened to each other’s amazing stories!

Children at Sherwood School aim to be Open-minded

They understand and appreciate their own cultures and personal histories, and are open to the perspectives, values and traditions of other individuals and communities.
They are accustomed to seeking and evaluating a range of points of view, and are willing to grow from the experience.
