Sherwood Primary School

At Sherwood Primary School we have a strong tradition of offering an excellent, quality educational package to all our students. This quality package is available to students from other countries.

We are very experienced with international students. Our teachers are all native English speakers but come from all over the world. Our teachers have taught in many other countries. We are very used to working with children and families from other cultures. Our principal who is an experienced educator both in New Zealand and International Schools has published a thesis on education and living in other countries.

We are a lead information communications and technology school. Other teachers and educators from New Zealand and overseas visit us to observe us, we are recognised as one of the best examples of how to use computers with children in the country.

The one barrier to entry to our school is that long term pupils must have their parent or legal guardian, who they usually live with, with them while in New Zealand; this is a requirement under New Zealand law. Please read the PDF article about this on our web site.

As signatories to the Code of Practice for pastoral Care of International Students we are not able to enroll students until we have copies of the following: Passport (details and photograph page), current student visa, and copies of health insurance. Children at our school are happy, polite, well behaved, work hard and are a pleasure to teach.
