Rugby Tournament - May
2018 Primary Schools Rugby Tournament started on Thursday 10th May, our five Rippa rugby/tackle teams made up of Year 3 to 6 students travelled to Windsor Park to compete in the first round of the 2018 Primary Schools Rugby Tournament. This event sees schools from all over the northern region of the North Shore take part in a series of tackle/rippa rugby games. The day proved to be fun filled and action packed with some players coming away battered and bruised but still smiling. Despite some of our teams not having a training (or only having one) they demonstrated some incredible skills and sportsmanship. Our tackle team were unlucky to not come away with a win but played with such heart and passion that it made their opposition very nervous. Our Y5&6 mixed and girls rippa teams showed outstanding skills when running with the ball which secured them with a couple of wins. Our Y3&4 boys and mixed rippa teams experienced a couple of wins and losses but demonstrated a lot of potential. All the teams are eagerly waiting for the next tournament on Thursday 21st June and can’t wait to start training again. Well done to all our students that took part in the tournament, particularly those that have never played before. You have done Sherwood and more importantly yourselves proud! A BIG thank you to all the parents and staff who helped on the day, without your help we wouldn’t be able to have the amount students taking part that we currently have. The students and myself really appreciate it.
